Dr. Kopchick, Dr. Burken, and their two children live on Lake Hartwell and enjoy various watersports. Dr. Kopchick likes traveling to warmer climates with family, while Dr. Burken is an avid fly fisherman.
Margaret Kopchick graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan in 1975, and subsequently from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1982 with honors. She was a resident at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1983, then at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1987. Dr. Kopchick received a citation from the American Medical Womenâs Association for Scholastic Achievement. She is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, where she is Board Certified, a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and a member of the Atlanta Dermatology Society.
Russell Burken graduated from Drake University in 1976 Summa Cum Laude and received his master's degree in 1978. He then attended the University of Iowa Medical School and graduated in 1984 with honors, and was president of the honors medical society there, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Burken completed his residency at the University of Iowa in 1988. He has also been an instructor at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Burken is a member of the American Medical Association, the Atlanta Dermatology Society, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatology Surgery.
